Our products are mainly made from natural raw materials, are safe to use and recyclable. The careful treatment of our environment is geared to the holistic approach of the entire product life cycle and is the guideline for all environmental activities. Compliance with all legal requirements is a matter of course for us.
The environmental protection policy is based on the company's core values and on the ISO 14001 system. Our principle applies: "Protection of the environment through holistic optimization." This also includes the thinking in material, water and energy cycles that has been rooted at Kabel for decades.
We determine the environmental impact of our business activities. The results go into the development of the products and production processes, which we carry out with a view to continuously improving operational environmental protection - beyond the legal requirements. From this we set ourselves new environmental protection goals every year, which can also serve to optimize all production processes, and monitor compliance with our environmental index.

We have various certificates which confirm the sustainability of our paper products. The following certificates ensure that the paper manufactured at the Hagen site comes from sustainable sources and is manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner. All stakeholders and consumers can be sure, that purchased paper from Kabel Mill make a positive contribution to the environment.
The label of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international label of quality for wood products from social and ecological forest management. The assessment based on verifiable social, ecological and economic criteria that help to avoid illegal deforestation and forest abuse
The EU Ecolabel is awarded by the European Union. Products which are particularly environmentally friendly are awarded. The certificate also guarantees that at least 70% of the fibers used come from sustainable forestry.
The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) is a transparent and independent system to ensure sustainable forest management. Products with the PEFC label origin from ecologically, economically and socially sustainable forest management.
